Describe Melinda's home situation.  How does this contribute to her actions?

  1. Her home life is lonely it seems. The only communication they have in that house is the notes left on the fridge. She is used to being lonely at home so that is how she acts outside of home. She only depends on herself.

  2. At home she doesn't speak to her parents very much so at school she doesn't talk much either and she is isolated.

  3. She is very distant from her family, it even says that the only why they converse is via notes on the fridge. She usually stays in her room when she's home she doesn't need anyone but herself. Her home like isn't the best, however to her, her room is her little euphoria.

  4. Melinda's home life isn't very... organized. It would seem her and her parents hardly communicate. Her mother and father do not seem to get along, thus affecting her mental state. Because she does not talk nor want to talk to her parents, she keeps to herself. Because she keeps to herself, she is quiet and feels like no one cares about her, her life, her interests, her struggles, and her mental state of depression.

  5. Melinda’s home life isn’t great because her family communicates with sticky notes posted on the fridge. They don’t communicate well and so I think that continues into school she doesn’t know how to actually talk with other people. If behavior happens at home, it will continue into school. She is used to depending on only herself so she feels like she doesn’t need friends.

  6. Lonely. She doesnt speak to her parents. They talk through notes and Melinda spends a lot of time alone while her parents fight.

  7. She has a very distant relationship with her parents. Her parents are usually working and she is left for most of the time alone in her house, which she doesnt mind. When her parents are home they are fighting either with each other or yelling at Melinda. Not having a good home life and not being able to talk to her parents causes her to not care anymore. She skips school, she comes late to class and doesnt bother to pay attention. Being alone at home all the time causes her to think its better to be alone and not try to make friends. By not gaining enough attention at home she may reach out in a drastic way to gain attention from other people.

  9. melindas home life seems to be very sad. she is neglected by her parents and seems to be yelled at for lots of things. and the only time they talk is when she has done something wrong or needs to do something. home should be an escape from the out side world, but it is not. The way things are at home rub off on her outside life and the way she acts.

  10. Melinda’s home situation is different from most peoples, she is very distant from her parents, and they don’t talk much at all. She often stays in her room by herself. She is very isolated from the world at home.

  11. Melinda's home situation is not the best. Her family seems to not really like each other. They communicate with notes and when they see each other they dont really talk much. The parents try to be figures of authority, but they usually fail. This relates to her acting odd and alone at school because thats how she is at home. She thinks that being regular is being quite and alone.

  12. She is very distant from her family, it says that the only way they converse is via notes on the fridge. She usually stays in her room when she's home she doesn't need anyone but herself. She doesn’t have the best home life but her room is the only thing that brings her joy.

  13. Melinda is an outcast. She struggles to communicate with her friends and very particular with who she deals with rather it's her family or friends. She lives in a lonely uptown area where her family is not as social compared to her and sometimes effects her characteristics. She always feels nervous and determined sometimes depending on where she is at and what she does that is different from her other friends.

  14. Melinda’s home life is very lonely. Her parents think she is shutting everything out, and they believe that it is affecting her schoolwork. She barely talks to her parents; she shuts them out and heads to her room everyday. The only communication they have together is through notes that they leave for her. Melinda’s home life relies dependably on herself.

  15. Melinda's family is not close at all. They communicate by notes on the refrigerator and never talk to each other. So in the situation that Melinda is in maybe it would help if she had someone to talk to. It has been a year and she probably wants to tell someone just so she does not have to deal with it on the daily. So maybe if her family was closer she would be able to tell someone and get the awful weight of pain of her chest.

  16. Her home life is very depressing, nobody talks to each other unless it is throught little notes. She is very distant and doesnt tell them much when they are together. When they arent, she is lonely. She is very shy and distant from everyone because she is not close with her parents.

  17. Melinda and her family do not communicate. They do not share their promblems or anything with each other. When she is home she just sits in her room. Because she doesnt know how to talk to her parents she doesnt know how to talk to people in school so she doesnt.

  18. Melindas home life isnt very good. Her and her parents do not communicate well. Her dad and her mom are the that will probably end up getting a divorce. She keeps to herself because she is afraid to express her self. I think her parents know that she is an outcast, but they cant do anything because Melinda doesnt express herself to them

  19. Melindas home life is very lonely. she doesnt talk to her parents much, the main way of talking is through notes on the fridge. her parents fight around her, and that makes her feel very uncomfortable in her own house. the only place that really brings her any sanctuary is her closet. she cant even talk to her own parents about her problems, and she doesnt have any friends to tell her story to, so she has to keep to herself and not talk at all.

  20. Her home life is very unorthodox from many others. She doesn't communicate with her parents very much other than the notes on the refrigerator. This may make her feel like she can't talk to anyone so this is why she isolates herself away from others. This may also go towards how she is always nervous and biting her lips severely to the point of them bleeding.

  21. Melinda's home life is very distant from each other, where they only talk to each threw sticky notes on the fridge. I believe that this makes her not open up to people very easily.
