    1. The waiting rooms and just the enviornment in the hospital drew her in. She just like all the chaos and she describes her liking for the hospital in a sick way. She says that she wants to help her friend and I think she also realizes that she could make a lot of money as a doctor. Answer to my group's question

    4. She fell asleep on the bus and missed the mall. She ends up at the hospital by accident. She figured she would stay there and see what it was like.

    5. the waiting rooms drew her in. she enjoys the havoc and chaos. she likes it in a sick and twisted way. she said the hospital is the perfect place to be invisible and the food is better than the schools. she also wants to learn some stuff to help david

    6. Melinda feels the need of going to the hospital to learn more about the people and the surroundings in the hospital around her. She has the need of helping people out including her friend, David. She still would like to get more interest out of what she wants and what she enjoys in her life and future.

    8. Melinda can sit in a waiting room and no one will care. She can be invisible which is just want she wants. No one will care if she sits in a waiting room just sitting and waiting.

    9. I feel that she goes because she wants to appease David, she tries not to like him but for her she need some one to like her.

    10. She liked it in "a sick kind of way" She was supposed to be going to the mall, but since she fell asleep on the bus she accidentally found the hospital. What drew her in was that there was waiting rooms on each floor. Then she figured she would stay and maybe learn some pre-med stuff for david, but she would have to stay on the move to not bring attention to herself

    11. If she hadn't fell asleep on the bus, I don't think she would go to the hospital she would continue her routine and go the mall. Since she did fall asleep, she made the best of the trip to the hospital. She wanted to learn some pre-med that she could bring back to David.

    12. She arrives at the hospital on accident. But she stayed to pay attention to some of the medical stuff to talk to David about what she saw.

    13. She had nowhere else to go and wants to look nice for David

    14. She fell asleep on the bus and the chaos of the waiting room drew her in, she decided to stay to learn stuff to talk about with David.

    15. the reason mel is at the hospital is because she fell asleep on the bus and arrived at the hospital and the chaos in the waiting room is what drew her in.

  3. Group 4: If Melina's parents had a better relationship with each other, do you think they would have noticed Melinda's internal struggles and her mental depression?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably, they are so focused on each other that they do not have enough time to focus on Melinda. They need to get a divorce. MElinda would be better off.

      Delete
    2. Yes because they would know her problems.

      Delete
    3. yes i think they would notice it because if they payed more attention they would see she wasn't happy with the way her life was going.

      Delete
    4. yes because if they knew her better then they would know when she was acting weird or that something was wrong. or if she talked to them they would know what was going on

      Delete
    5. yes, because when you have a good relationship with your parents they know when you are not your self

      Delete
    6. Yes, they are to busy doing other stuff without each other that they never spend anytime with each other. Therefore never seeing Melinda and never realizing what is going on in their daughters life.

      Delete
    7. If Melinda talked more to her parents, they would've been able to tell if there was something wrong with her.

      Delete
    8. yes because they do not focus on her enough. If they payed more attention to her they would know she was not happy.

      Delete
    9. If Melinda and her parents had a better relationship her whole life, Melinda would be used to talking to them and coming to her parents when she had problems. So now Melinda doesn't feel comfortable talking to her parents. Her parents are now too busy with their own lives and don't focus on what is going on in their own daughter's life.

      Delete
    10. Yes. For example, at Christmas, Melinda is shocked that her parents noticed she started to draw. Also, at the guidance office, the counselor asks if her home life has any affect on her. Her parents seem to be too busy with their own problems to even notice their own daughter's struggles.

      Delete
    11. I think that if they had a better relationship they would have notice differences in her personality and become worried for her.

      Delete
    12. yes because if they talked instead of posting notes they would all know how every one felt in the family by talking and understatnding

      Delete
    13. Yes I think if they would've stopped fighting with each other and made more time for Melinda they would have realized that there is something wrong with her.

      Delete
  4. Why do you think Melinda hates going to the mall with her mom?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because she doesnt like being with her mom. She doesnt want other people to see her there with her mom.

      Delete
    2. She doesnt like going to the mall because she has to shop with her mom and she says she stalks ahead and i guess she walks weird.

      Delete
    3. because she doesnt like hanging with her mom and doesnt want to be seen with her

      Delete
    4. She doesnt like going or doing anything with her parents. Especially with her mom, cause she is going to buy new clothes, that everyone else is wearing, and her mom finds clothes that would be "out of style"

      Delete
    5. because they arent close, they dont have a good relationship. They would just walk awkwardly around the mall not talking to eachother.

      Delete
    6. Melinda and her mom have mixed feelings from each other when it comes time for them to bond and/or go out. Melinda feels very negative of what she does according to what the task may be that involves her family. She feels that going to the mall is not the best choice right now and her mother is trying to make the best of it.

      Delete
    7. Melinda doesn't want to be seen with her mom and she is embarressed to be seen with her in public.

      Delete
    8. She does not wanna be seen with her mom because they do not have a good relationship and they probably would not even talk.

      Delete
    9. She doesnt like people she wants to alone.

      Delete
    10. Melinda doesn't like spending time with her mom. If they do go they don't talk to each other and whenever Melinda picks out clothes, her mother doesn't like them and disagrees with the clothes.

      Delete
    11. Because her and her mother arent really close. So when they go its not like either of them want to be with each other.

      Delete
    12. They don't have the best of relationships and going to the mall would mean talking and bonding which neither are good at. Melinda also thinks that her mom will pick out out of style clothes, and she wants clothes that the kids at school are wearing.

      Delete
    13. because mel wants to get into the new look and her mom keeps buying her old clothes

      Delete
    14. This is because when she goes to the mall she wants to pick out her own clothes but when she is with her mother she picks out some out of style clothes.

  5. Brett, Colten, Josh, Kasey. Does Heather and Melinda stay friends, even after Heather didn't stand up for her whenever the Martha's were talking badly about Melinda. Why is Melinda hesitate on joining a club, or even a group of people. Why did Heather suddenly change her attitude towards Melinda? Is Heather's relationship with the Martha's affecting her and Melinda's friendship?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes Heather's relationship with the Marthas is affecting her and Melinda's friendship. She does not stand up for her and she is more focused on making more friends then keeping her old good friends.

      Delete
    2. yes its affecting the friendship, she didnt stand up to them because she didnt want the marthas to think of her different of her so she could be accepted

      Delete
    3. Heather's relationship with the Marthas is affecting Melinda's and her frindship. And she is s more focused on making new friends.

      Delete
    4. Yes, the influences the Martha's on Heather, is changing her relationship with Melinda.

      Delete
    5. Heather acts differently with Mellinda around the Marthas because Mellinda is seen as and oucast and a Martha can not be seen with an outcast. Heather's relationship with the Martha's is affecting her and Mellinda's because she acts completly different.

      Delete
    6. Because Heather unlike Melinda wants to belong so when she realized that Melinda was bringing her down she dumped her to belong with the Martha's. So yes it is effecting their relationship.

      Delete
    7. Heathers relationship with the Marthas ruins her and Melindas friendship. Heather is basically someone else around the Marthas and will do anything to be accepted.

      Delete
    8. Heather and Melinda's relationship is affected because Heather acts different when she is around the Martha's and when they talk bad about Melinda she does't stickup for her. Melinda is an outcast and a MArtha can not be seen with her.

      Delete
    9. their relationship is affected because mel is mad that heather didnt stand up for her when the marthas were giveing her e a piece of their minds

      Delete
    10. I think heather being a part of the Martha's did impact their friendship. Also Melinda being depressed all the time had a role too. I don't think they will be friends again just because heather is going to be consumed in the Martha's.

      Delete
    11. Yes the Martha's are affecting Heathers friendship with Melinda. Heather is no longer wanting to be friends with Melinda because she is negative but never left her until the Martha's accepted her into the group.

  7. How do you think Melinda feels that someone is finally seems to appreciate what she has done (Mr. Freeman and him telling Melinda she is on the right track with her painting) after Heather no longer wants to be her friend and her parents being upset with her. - Joseph Armstrong, Hunter Comer, Logan Marks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably better since David is also found of her.

      Delete
    2. I think Melinda will view Mr. Freeman as a friend, or someone she can talk to.

      Delete
    3. Good she feels good because it looks like that all she wants is to be appreciated

      Delete
    4. Mellinda probably feels really good about what he said. The art teacher is the only person that she really feels connected to. She thinks that art is a eutopea of sorts.

      Delete
    5. She feels good because she is finally starting to be recognized for something that she is good at.

      Delete
    6. She feels good and stuff. Its one of the few times she isnt being ignored or treated badly even though she causes it for herself.

      Delete
    7. she feels good, because she is being applauded for something she did

      Delete
    8. Good question, Joseph! I think everyone in her life knows what she goes through in her life and people do start to appreciate how much work and progress she faced from her lonely life/hometown. Heather may not be on the right track, but Melinda is maybe showing a good example for Heather and how Heather will someday overcome this situation.

      Delete
    9. She feels good because she is good at something and people actually notice it.

      Delete
    10. It probably feels good to finally have something go her way for once especially after everything in her life has fell apart.

      Delete
    11. i think she feels really good because from all the bad stuff happining in her life there is finally somthing to work on and look forward to.

      Delete
    12. I think it's good that Melinda has someone to talk to even if it isn't someone her age, but Mr. Freeman giving positive feedback on Melinda's painting was most likely a slight boost in her confidence.

      Delete
    13. I think that she thinks of him as a true friend since Heather is no longer around.

  8. When the teachers and other students believe that Melinda's art teacher, Mr. Freeman is going insane and loosing his mind. Why does Melinda believe that, he is the sanest person she knows? Group: Micah France, Alyssa Curran, Alyssa Slater, Hunter Morgan

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because Mr. Freeman somewhat keeps his cool, and although he kind of over reacts by destroying his painting Melinda looks up to him and understands what he is going through.

      Delete
    2. Because he is the one person she can compare to and she doesn't want to loose this good of a teacher.

      Delete
    3. I think she believes this mainly becauseof the way he acts in his class, which is carefree, and Melinda believes that everyone is too strict about things, so she thinks Freeman isnt like that

      Delete
    4. Melinda believes that Mr.Freeman is the sane because of she can relate to the way his mind works.

      Delete
    5. she thinks that because their just like one another, they both like art, and creating things

      Delete
    6. Melinda doesn't think Mr. Freeman is going insane because she one has her own problems going on, and two she gets along with him and she doesn't want to mess that friendship up.

      Delete
    7. Even though Mr. Freeman goes insane sometimes and has that ability to lose his mind,I really think he means well and tries his best to the person
he is. This situation on may fall under Melinda's situation because they both try in life and know what they are up against.

      Delete
    8. She thinks this because she is somewhat comparable to him and could resemble him on the ways he acts.
